Katie Ries

Artist Statement

I am concerned about our modern lives: the resources they require, the lure of screens and “likes”, and the sobering forecasts of climate change and an expanding global population. In response to these concerns my work uses humor, drawings, multiples, and embodied actions to speak to some of those concerns and to make suggestions as to what I think modern people can do to be better stewards of their immediate land.
